Music, singing and acting lessons
Learning to sing, to act or to play a musical instrument is really popular at Longbenton High School. We have a talented team of teachers who visit the school each week to deliver one-to-one and paired private lessons. These lessons are optional and are in addition to timetabled curriculum lessons in Music and Drama.
How lessons work
Our visiting teachers are self-employed. By signing up to these additional lessons, parents and carers are agreeing to enter into a contract with the visiting teacher.
Payment for lessons is managed directly between parents or carers and the instrumental teacher. In most cases, invoices are distributed on a half-termly basis.
Lessons take place during the school day. This means students will come out of their curriculum lessons to attend their private lesson once a week for either 15 or 30 minutes.
Timetables are organised on a carousel system so that students do not miss the same curriculum lesson each week.
Instrument loans
We can usually arrange a long-term instrument loan, without charge, for students who sign up to play a string or woodwind instrument and do not have their own.
