Yesterday, the Y8 footballers made the journey to John Spence to embark on their first 7 a side tournament of the year - and what a statement they made… coming back as WINNERS OF THE TOURNAMENT! The day finished with the boys winning 5 of their 6 fixtures, drawing the other and conceding an unbelievable zero goals throughout!
The smaller format definitely allowed the boys to flourish and show what they have been capable of all year… with some football prime Barcelona would have been envious of and goals that I couldn’t replicate if I tried 100 times! (this is not a joke.. maybe even 200 times… ask Jack Dawson about his goal vs North Gosforth, i’m sure he’d be over the moon to talk to you about it.)

Three special mentions have to go to Harvey Lloyd, who went the full tournament without conceding a goal making some brilliant saves along the way. Joey Donnelly who must’ve covered every blade of turf at John Spence and Jack Dawson simply for his outstanding quality and maturity in his performances.
