It was a great privilege to see our Year 13s pick up their results this morning. Thank you to all of the staff, parents and carers for everything you have done to support our students in making today happen. There has been a lot to overcome, with such disruption to A Level studies - please don't forget that this cohort only had one full term of uninterrupted study in Year 12 before March 2020! We are so incredibly proud of everything that they have achieved, despite what have been at times impossible circumstances. We are in awe of their success - they really have lived our values of kindness, integrity, determination, ambition and positivity.

We have delivered a brilliant set of results this year, making us one of the most successful sixth forms in the area - and a number of students have achieved truly outstanding results.

Bethan Keiller and Joe Murray achieved a full set of 4 A* grades and Josh Barnsley, Matthew Bowler, Faye Turnbull and Maia Clark all achieved a full set of A*-A grades.

Nearly 40% of our students achieved 3 or more A*-B grades at A Level including Emily Milburn, Jenny-Rose Morrison, Emily Rooney, Kate Rooney and Harry Van Ransbeke.

They are off to prestigious universities all around the country to challenge a vast range of courses: Josh, Matthew and Daniel are studying Aerospace Engineering at Bristol, Liverpool and Leeds; Maia is studying Geography at Manchester; Caitlin is studying Primary Education at Northumbria; Jenny-Rose is studying Creative Writing & English Literature at York and Shannon and Kimia are studying Art at Sunderland.

Joe is reading Law at Pembroke College, Oxford.

Bethan is reading Mathematics at Trinity Hall, Cambridge.

These are just some of our success stories, which demonstrate the fantastic students we are privileged to work with in our school.

GCSE results and enrolment take place this Thursday from 8.30am - we are looking forward to meeting the next generation of 6th form students! If you haven't done so already, take a look at our 6th form promo film here: https://longbenton.org.uk/about/ne12-6th-form/virtual-open-evening
