Last term concluded with an all-star performance showcase given by the talented students of Longbenton High School. Sixty students from across years 7-13 came together to deliver Lionel Bart’s classic interpretation of Dickins’ Oliver Twist. After three months of hard work rehearsing to be performance ready, our students delivered another stand-out musical theatre performance in our local professional venue, The Playhouse, Whitley Bay. The gifted cast was led by year 9 student Owen Turnbull in the title role of Oliver, alongside supporting principals Georgia Carpenter (Nancy, year 13), Joe Murray (Fagin, year 10), Jackson Jones (The Artful Dodger, year 7), Harry Van Ransbeke (Mr Sowerberry, year 10), Esme Burrell (Mrs Sowerberry, year 10), Chloe Coll (Bet, year 10), Ryan Gibson (Mr Bumble, year 9) and Bethan Keiller (Widow Corney, year 10).
