At the beginning of this term, seventy students from years 8-13 were wowed by a performance of the West End Touring Production of Wicked at the Sunderland Empire. It was unsurprising that this trip proved to be very ‘popular!’ as it was not only supporting year 10 and 11 GCSE music students who study extracts of this work within their GCSE music course, but was also a welcome enrichment opportunity for other year groups within our school as musical theatre is a genre that appeals to a lot of our students. The group were hugely inspired by seeing this large scale, energetic show performed by West End professionals and are keen to see another show soon!
