Yesterday saw 2 Year 12 historians, Lewis Scott and Kate Wilson, accompanied by Mrs Skinner travel to Poland to visit Auschwitz, Birkenau, as part of our work with Holocaust Educational Trust. Auschwitz was a Nazi death camp where over a million Jews were murdered during the Second World War. The trip was a memorable and emotional one. The students will be working with other pupils at Longbenton High School as ambassadors for the project during the year. The photos show the entrance gate to Auschwitz 1, Birkenau, and the remembrance book of names with over 4 million names of those who could be accounted for.
