Dear Parents/Carers

Thank you for your patience and support as we put our new systems into place this term. There are a few key updates below to bring to your attention.

 

Facial recognition software for our new till system

  • We have had a positive response to this with the vast majority of parents opting in. The more students who use this method of payment, the faster the service will be at the counters.

  • We still need parental consent if we do not have this already - you can give consent at this link: Parental Consent Biometrics

  • Student accounts will be set up on Wednesday 17th April this week. Please note that staff will not be able to see your child’s facial recognition image. Students will come out of lessons briefly to have their biometric account set up during the morning.

Account Balances

  • ParentPay balances were entered into MCAS (My Child At School) and parents can see these on the app/account. However, there has been an issue today with the interface between MCAS and the tills. Your child may therefore have had a zero balance when served today which we are working to resolve this afternoon.

  • Some students had no credit on their account, so we have allowed students to go ‘overspent’ in order to ensure everyone had a meal today. We will continue to do this until Friday 19th April - or until a maximum cumulative overspend of £15.00 has been reached - to give parents time to set up and add credit to accounts. 

  • Please be assured that all students were served regardless of their account status.

Siblings

  • MCAS sibling accounts must be linked by us on your behalf. Unfortunately we are unable to do this until the app is downloaded by parents. In the first instance you will only be able to see one child. If this applies to you please email lhs@longbenton.org.uk and we will link siblings in your account.
