The North Tyneside Learning Trust Star Awards were held last night at the impressive Assembly Rooms in Newcastle. Out of the 550 nominations for awards 48 finalists were chosen and Longbenton High School were proud to have seven of those finalists. Six are pictured here with one other, Kate Wilson, enjoying a well earned holiday at the end of her A Levels. These awards celebrate the phenomenal achievements of the young people in North Tyneside, many of whom have overcome significant personal challenges and barriers but still achieve amazing things for themselves, their families and for their school. Given the high calibre of the finalists it was a particular honour for Longbenton to receive such widespread recognition. This year’s finalists from Longbenton were Ava Ho within the Achievement Award, Ben Hartridge for the Fundraising Award, Katie Miller within the Volunteering category and Ella Davidson for the Inclusion Award. Well done to these fabulous young people! A special mention though to the three overall winners: Chloe Temulken for winning the Inspiration Award, Kate Wilson as winner of the Local Hero Award and Katie Murray for winning the Useful and Kind Award. We are really proud of them and to have them in our school. Well done to them all.
