The school are looking to fill Parent Governor vacancies that have arisen on the school’s Governing Body.

The role of Governor is a very interesting and rewarding one, observing how the school works, monitoring standards achieved and providing support at events and functions. The Governors meet four times a year, starting at 6pm for around two hours. In addition, various sub-committees meet, often on a termly basis and these report to the full Governing Body.

The most important quality for a parent governor is enthusiasm.  You do not need to have experience in the education sector or specialist skills.  They need to be supportive of the work of the school and be a critical friend to provide challenge and support to the headteacher and the leadership of the school.

It is essential that Governor vacancies are filled in a timely manner in order to fully maintain the functions of the Governing Body and I would ask that interested parents complete the attached nomination form and return it to the school no later than 3.30pm on Thursday 2 November 2017.

Alternatively, you can also contact me at the school and I will be happy to discuss the role in more detail and outline the appointment procedures.

Paul Quinn
Headteacher
